New Renault Clio 2005: French Car. British Designers

14 October 2005 was launch day for the eagerly awaited New Renault Clio. This outstanding new model brings together the very best of France and Britain. The car was created by an International Design Team, with the British design contingent taking a pivotal role. It's bigger, better and roomier, but as always, the New Clio places the emphasis on driving pleasure thanks to improved dynamic handling along with even higher levels of comfort. And, as you’d expect from Renault, the New Clio meets the very highest standards of safety with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

The new model comes in four varieties: the Extreme, the Expression, the Dynamique and the Dynamique S.

The Clio Extreme, from £8,895, has 1.2 16V 75 petrol engine or commonrail diesel 1.5dCi 68. It comes with 15" alloy wheels, electric front windows, 2 x 15W RDS Radio CD with fingertip remote controls, dark carbon geometric-patterned upholstery, and six airbags, including driver and front passenger, front lateral and anti-submarining (curtain airbag optional).

The Clio Expression, from £9,450, attained the maximum 5 stars in EuroNCAP safety tests. There is a choice of four petrol engines (three manual and one automatic) and two diesel. It comes with 15" Aria Wheel Trims, air conditioning, electric front windows, 2 x 15W RDS Radio CD with fingertip remote controls, dark carbon geometric-patterned upholstery, and eight airbags, including driver and front passenger, front lateral, anti-submarining and curtain airbags and folding rear seats with three adjustable rear headrests.

The Clio Dynamique, from £10,250, attained the maximum 5 stars in EuroNCAP safety tests. There is a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines. It comes with 15" alloy wheels, electric front windows, remote central locking, 2 x 15W RDS Radio CD with fingertip remote controls, sports headlamps and front fog lamps, dedicated cornering lamps, aluminium dashboard detail and dial surrounds.

The Clio Dynamique S, from £10,550, attained the maximum 5 stars in EuroNCAP safety tests. There is a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines. It comes with 16" alloy wheels, extra-tinted rear windows, electric front windows, remote central locking, 2 x 15W RDS Radio CD with fingertip remote controls, sports headlamps, front fog lamps and dedicated cornering lamps.
